A legal wedding is known as a civil wedding, and it is where you will become legally married in Italy with an Italian marriage certificate issued. A symbolic wedding is exactly the same as a civil wedding except the wedding ceremony will not be legally binding. There will still be a celebrant and you will say your vows as normal. Guests will not know the difference of what type of wedding it will be. Normally, couples that decide to have a symbolic wedding will either have legally married in their home country before or after arriving in Lake Como. Please see legal page for more details.
